Gregorio Nunez Obituary (1923 - 2024)

It’s with deep sorrow, but with great joy in heaven that we announce the passing of Gregorio B. Nuñez. Goyo was born in the town of Santa Fe Jalisco to his parents Gregorio and Natalia Nuño. His childhood was spent in Puente Grande, Jalisco, Mex. At the age of 25 Goyo immigrated to the U.S. and worked under the Bracero program then proudly became a naturalized citizen at age 49. Goyo had a zest for life. He was a proud, honest, hard-working man with strong ethical standards. He was charitable, kind, devoted, and a loving family man. At 27 he married the love of his life Augustina Taffolla. They settled in Brawley, CA where they raised six children. He is preceded in death by his wife Augustina, daughter Christina Nuñez, and son Tommy Nuñez. Goyo is survived by his sons Gregory Jr. (married to Esperanza Nuñez), Ernest Nuñez (married to Sandra Nuñez), Rudy Nuñez, Michael Nuñez, and Mary Helen Taffolla Hoskins whom he raised, loved, and considered his daughter. His extensive loving family consisted of 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, and substantial friends who will deeply miss his absence.
