Roy Lozano Vasquez
September 12, 1951 – November 1, 2026
Roy Lozano Vasquez, 75, known to many as Rogelio, passed away on November 1, 2026, in El Centro, California.
Roy was born on September 12, 1951, in Calexico, California, to Gilbert and Lily Vasquez. He grew up in Calexico as one of nine children and spent his whole life in the Imperial Valley, making his home in Calexico and El Centro.
A hardworking father, Roy began his career in the seed industry at Asgrow Seeds before moving to KF Seeds. Along the way, he helped shape the careers of many of the people he worked with, and he counted many of them as friends. He later worked as an inspector for Imperial County until his retirement.
Roy’s commitment to young people went well beyond his own family. He gave years to the local Pop Warner association, rising to serve as its president. He was also actively involved in 4-H through both of his sons.
A man of Catholic faith, Roy spent much of his time at Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Mary’s. Those who knew him will remember his caring nature and his gift for striking up a conversation with anyone he met.
Roy is survived by his sons, Roy and Beau; his grandchildren, Jacob, Mila, Makai, Hudson and Ella; and his siblings, Yolanda, Gloria, Cora, Martha, Letty and Lily. He is also survived by Mary Vasquez, the mother of his sons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Lily Vasquez, and his brothers, John and Cruz.
A viewing and memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Frye’s Mortuary, 338 W. Aten Road, Imperial, California. All who knew Roy are welcome.
