Silvester Escalera Chacon Obituary (1942 - 2021)

It is with heartfelt sadness to announce the passing of our beloved father, Sylvester "Chivete" Escalera Chacon, 78. He was born in Brawley, California on December 9, 1942 and passed away peacefully on October 16, 2021, after an extended battle with cancer, multiple myeloma. Sylvester was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Singh Chacon; his parents Guadalupe and Francisca Chacon; his brothers, Frank Chacon, Joe Chacon, Henry Chacon; and sister, Sarah Chacon Palacio. He is survived by his children: JoAnn (Scott) Trejo, Barbara (Ruben) Garcia, Sally (Richard) Delgado, John Chacon, Ralph Solarez, and Casey Solarez; and brother, Tony Chacon . He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchilden. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Visitation and rosary will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley, CA. Graveside services will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley, CA .
